About Preveli

Welcome to Preveli Great Danes, we are a family run kennels based in Wiltshire, UK. Our love of the Great Dane commenced in the early 1990's starting with a harlequin rescue Great Dane called "Duke". He was the absolute gentle giant and we have never looked back since.
We own/breed and show fawn Great Danes and occasionally have puppies available. In 2010 we became a member of The Kennel Club Accredited Breeder Scheme. All of our Great Danes which are used in our breeding programme are Hip Scored, Heart Tested and Eye tested for Glaucoma.

Our affix "Preveli" is derived from a beautiful serene monastery called Mon Preveli on the beautiful Greek island of Crete. The monastery itself is steeped in history and is perched on a cliff top above a beach of outstanding natural beauty. It was here during the second world war that the Greek monks used to hide the English servicemen and assist them escape during the night from the Germans.
